Rainy Day Procedures Reminder:

With the forecast predicting rain this week please remember to use the following arrival / dismissal procedures during bad weather.

The school will notify families the day of via email/text should we need to initiate rainy day arrival or dismissal procedures.

Arrival:

  • All kindergarten and 1st grade students will arrive through the main entrance during bad  weather. 2nd - 5th grade students may use the main entrance or north playground doors.
  • A staff member will be stationed at the north playground door until 8:45. All students entering Midland School after 8:45 should enter through the main entrance.

Dismissal:

  • All kindergarten and 1st grade students will be dismissed from the main entrance. 2nd - 5th grade students may use the main entrance or north playground doors.
  • Speak with your child beforehand and create a dismissal plan for inclement weather days.

A reminder concerning safety during arrival and dismissal:

  • Cars dropping off inside the Midland driveway should travel north on Midland Avenue and make the right-hand turn into the driveway.
  • Cars traveling south should not make a left-hand turn into the driveway as this creates a significant safety hazard.
  • Cars exiting the Midland driveway should turn right and continue traveling north on Midland Avenue.
  • Cars should not make a left-hand turn out of the driveway as this creates significant traffic delays.
  • The circle is drop off only and no adults should get out of their car. If a child needs assistance to get in or out the parents should utilize the drop off zone in front of the school on Midland Avenue.

*About Head Lice from CDC

*A link to a video on what to look out for and how to treat.
